Driving Examination
Driving Examinations at Falkland College
Before booking your driving examination, (form at the bottom of the page), please ensure you have the following original documents ready for inspection. Copies will be taken, along with payment and must be provided to Falkland College before an examination date can be confirmed.
Required documentation
1. Vehicle Roadworthiness Certificate (“MOT”)
A valid roadworthiness certificate must be obtained from a recognised garage. This confirms that the vehicle is safe and suitable for use on public roads.
2. Vehicle Insurance
The vehicle used for the examination must be insured to allow any driver over the age of 25 to drive it. This ensures the examiner can safely return the vehicle to the College should the candidate be deemed unsafe to continue driving.
3. Provisional Licence
Your provisional licence must be in date and clearly show the licence category for which you are applying to be examined.
4. Driving Theory Test Certificate
A valid, in-date theory certificate is required for the correct vehicle category.
About the Driving Examination
The driving examination is designed to assess whether you are safe, confident, and competent to drive on Falkland Islands roads within the licence category you have applied for. Candidates must demonstrate sound vehicle control, awareness of road conditions, and a clear understanding of safe driving practices.
